GREAT SUCCESS!!!!

The moment you’ve all been waiting for. It’s time to unveil….

My sugar showpiece!  Yes. I made that. It took five hours and two people. And I only set myself on fire once and ruined one piece of equipment!

Whoops. Note to self: Melting scissors smell horrific.

We used a bunch of different sugar techniques, which is why there are so many textures and shapes on the showpiece.

I can just hear you begging for a virtual tour! VIRTUAL TOUR! VIRTUAL TOUR! So, let’s see… there was the fishie:

Whew! It was a ton of work, and I get to do it all tomorrow. My awesome partner was my sous chef today, and tomorrow I’m going to be her sous chef.  Building these giant sculptures really is a two-person job.

I’d better go rest my arms for tomorrow. Shaky hands + giant sugar sculpture = BAD NEWS BEARS.
